It's a GREAT time to buy real estate in Huntington Beach Are you in the market for a new home? It is a great time to buy real estate in Huntington Harbour or anywhere in Huntington Beach. Interest rates are still very low, the tax credit is still in effect, and real estate seems to have stabilized through NAR and local sales statistics. Currently, if you close escrow on your new Huntington Beach home before April 30, 2010, First-Time Home Buyer receive a Tax Credit of up to $8,000 and a $6,500 credit for current home owners purchasing a new or existing home between November 7, 2009 and April 30, 2010. So who qualifies for this tax credit? First-time home buyers who purchase homes between November 7, 2009 and April 30, 2010 and current home owners who purchase a new home between the above mentioned period who have used the home being sold/vacated as their principal residence for 5 of the last 8 years. A first-time home buyer is defined for this program as: a purchaser and his/her spouse who has not owned a residence during the 3 years prior to the purchase. Of course other qualifications for receiving the tax credit is having the cash on hand to purchase a home for cash OR the purchaser's ability to obtain a residential mortgage.
